Configuration
Update Permissions Reminder works out of the box with sensible defaults — no config file required. Everything is controlled from Settings → Plugins → Update Permissions Reminder in the control panel.
Display
Choose how reminders are surfaced to admins:
- Show sticky reminder bar — a bar pinned to the bottom of the control panel that appears for admins whenever there are outstanding changes. On by default.
- Show reminder modal — a dialog listing every outstanding change. It opens from the “View details” button on the bar, or automatically if the bar is turned off. On by default.
You can enable either, both, or neither. With both off, reminders are still recorded and visible in the Permission Reminders control panel section — you just won’t be interrupted.
Watched changes
Pick which schema changes should trigger a reminder. Each of these can introduce new permissions that your existing user groups won’t have until you grant them:
- New sections
- New entry types
- New global sets
- New asset volumes
- New category groups
- New user groups
- Installed plugins
All seven are watched by default. Turning one off stops new reminders of that type from being created; it does not remove reminders you’ve already received.
Who sees reminders
Reminders are only shown to admin accounts, since only admins can edit user group permissions. Non-admin users never see the bar or modal.
